George Winston's tweede postume album 'Beloved: A Celebration of Professor Longhair'. Dit album breidt zijn repertoire van New Orleans-stijl piano uit dat George in de loop der jaren heeft gecreëerd. Zijn 'Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions-A Hurricane Relief Benefit' doneerde alle royalty's van de artiest aan de slachtoffers van Katrina. 'Gulf Coast Blues and Impressions 2: A Louisiana Wetlands Benefit' werd uitgebracht in 2012, waarbij alle royalty's van artiesten ten goede komen aan groepen die zich inzetten voor het behoud van de wetlands in het Golfgebied.Professor Longhair, beter bekend als Fess, was een van George's grootste invloeden. George was in 1977 gestopt met piano spelen, maar toen hij in 1979 het album 'New Orleans Piano' van Fess hoorde, inspireerde hem dat om weer te gaan spelen. George's label Dancing Cat bracht in 1985 een album uit met opnamen van Professor Longhair getiteld 'Rock n Roll Gumbo'.
