'Notes With Attachments' is een samenwerking tussen producer en multi-instrumentalist Blake Mills (bekend van onder andere zijn werk met Perfume Genius en Bob Dylan) en de legendarische bassist Pino Palladino (bekend van onder andere zijn werk met John Mayer, The Who en D'Angelo). Het album was bedoeld als Palladino's debuutalbum, maar het project ontwikkelde zich terwijl Mills en Palladino jarenlang aan de plaat werkten.
